Terms of Use
Effective 21 October 2026
These terms cover your use of workshelve.com, including its tools and blog. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
The Tools Are Free and Provided As Is
Workshelve is free to use, with no account needed. The tools are built with care, but they are provided as is and may contain mistakes. Check any result that matters before you rely on it, especially conversions, calculations, hashes, generated code and edited PDFs. Keep a copy of any original file before you change it.
The tools are not professional advice. Don't use them as the only basis for medical, legal, financial, safety or engineering decisions.
Your Files and Content
Files and text you use in the tools are processed in your browser and are not sent to us (see the Privacy Policy). You keep all rights to your content and to the output the tools produce from it. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use and change the files you work with.
Acceptable Use
When using the site, you agree not to:
- use the tools to break the law or to infringe anyone else's rights;
- try to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its hosting;
- copy the site wholesale or scrape it in a way that degrades the service for others;
- misrepresent the site or its content as your own.
Our Content
The site's design, code, articles and tool descriptions belong to Workshelve. You're welcome to link to any page and to quote short passages with a link back. Please ask before republishing whole articles.
Links to Other Sites
Pages link to outside documentation, standards and references. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or availability.
Changes to the Site
Tools may be added, changed or removed at any time, and the site may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance. We may update these terms; the effective date at the top shows when they last changed.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Workshelve is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or its tools, including lost data, damaged files or decisions made on the basis of a result.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986 or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement. If you use the site for business purposes, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply, as permitted by section 43 of that Act.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
