Each letter is represented by a pattern of dots and dashes. In typed Morse, a single space separates letters, while a slash or three spaces can separate words.
Morse does not encode uppercase and lowercase separately, so decoded alphabetic text is returned in uppercase.
This translator works with the familiar dot-and-dash notation. It is useful for learning patterns, translating messages, puzzles, and checking written Morse.
Real transmitted Morse also relies on timing: a dash lasts longer than a dot, and the pauses inside a character, between letters, and between words have different lengths.
